🇮🇷📉 Iran’s crypto inflows dropped 11% in the first 7 months of 2025, according to TRM Labs.
Main reasons:
- Military conflict with Israel & stalled nuclear talks.
- $90M hack on Nobitex (handling 87% of local transactions).
- Tether blacklisting 42 USDT wallets, triggering mass outflows.
Funds shifted to high-risk offshore exchanges with little KYC. Iranians continue to rely heavily on stablecoins, especially USDT, to preserve value amid soaring inflation and international sanctions.
Crypto also remains a tool for Iran to pay for chips, AI hardware, and bypass restrictions.
