Aavegotchi will migrate from Polygon to Base and cease operations of Geist Layer 3.

According to Techub News, reported by The Block, Aavegotchi DAO voted to migrate from Polygon to Base with over 95% support and to cease operations of Geist Layer 3. This strategic shift comes after significant layoffs at its development company Pixelcraft Studios to reduce costs and extend operational time. As part of the migration plan, Aavegotchi’s smart contracts based on Polygon will be upgraded to prevent transfer and state adjustments, while all Aavegotchi assets (including Aavegotchi, wearables, badges, REALM Parcels, Forge assets, and FAKE Gotchi) will be minted 1:1 on Base. The migration is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks, including an audit period.
