Meta lays off over a hundred employees from the Reality Labs division.

Golden Ten Data on April 25, according to people familiar with the matter, Meta Platforms (META.O) is laying off more than 100 employees in its Reality Labs division, which focuses on the development of virtual reality and wearable devices. The latest round of layoffs has affected employees at Reality Labs focused on creating VR experiences for Meta’s Quest headsets, as well as operations employees focused on hardware, according to the person familiar with the matter. Meta’s leadership wants to streamline similar work being done by two different teams within Reality Labs. According to media reports, the company confirmed that it had laid off employees but did not comment on the number of employees affected. Tracy Clayton, a spokesperson for Meta, said in an emailed statement: "Some teams at Oculus Studios are experiencing a shift in structure and roles, which is impacting team size. ”
