OpenAI has launched the Depth Research Lite version, which is now available to some users.

According to ChainCatcher’s message, OpenAI has announced the launch of a lightweight version of its depth research feature, supported by the o4-mini model, aimed at expanding user accessibility. Plus, Team, and Pro users now have extended access, and free users are also gradually gaining access to the lightweight version. Enterprise and educational users will receive the same access as Team users next week. According to OpenAI, the lightweight version, while having shorter responses, still maintains the depth and intelligence level of the original version, while significantly reducing service costs.
