Director of Squid Game: Elon Musk is a role model for villainous billionaires.

Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director of Squid Game, stated that the VIP characters in season 3 – now directly hunting people instead of just observing – are inspired by real-life billionaires like Elon Musk.

“Today, those who control the system are no longer hiding,” he told TIME, referring to Musk as a symbol of the super-rich who are openly manipulating the global order.

This statement comes at a time when Elon Musk has just withdrawn from the (DOGE) Government Efficiency Office in the Trump administration and is publicly clashing with the former president over a $2.4 trillion spending bill. Musk currently has a net worth of $409.8 billion – surpassing the GDP of many countries.

Season 3 of Squid Game will air from June 27, coinciding with Jeff Bezos’s lavish wedding worth 46 million USD in Venice.
