El Salvador’s strategy of buying 1 Bitcoin every day has paid off. Since November 18, 2022, the government has purchased a total of 969 Bitcoin, buying one BTC daily.

An investment of 54.15 million dollars is currently valued at 115.18 million dollars. BTCs bought at an average of 55,886 dollars have now provided an unrealized profit of 113%. The total Bitcoin holdings of the state have reached 6.236 BTC, valued at approximately 740 million dollars.

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele continues to defend his country’s cryptocurrency policies and dismiss criticisms. Recently, he was targeted by the bill titled “El Salvador Accountability Act of 2025” introduced by U.S. Democratic senators Tim Kaine, Chris Van Hollen, and Alex Padilla.

The purpose of the draft is to investigate whether the El Salvador government uses cryptocurrencies as a “tool for regime corruption” and to freeze the country’s assets if necessary. Bukele, on the other hand, responded to this proposal with a sarcastic post on the social media platform X.

Bukele had previously targeted many authorities on social media, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Venezuelan government. This time, Bukele, who targeted American senators, did not refrain from belittling those who criticize his policies.

Bukele’s responses are not limited to social media. Recently, his closeness to former US President Donald Trump has also drawn attention. Trump had supported the detention of some individuals deported from the US in El Salvador’s mega prison. This development suggests a shift to a new axis in Bukele’s foreign policy stance.
