Odaily News The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit against Bitcoin (BTC) valued at over $5 million, announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, claiming that these funds are illicit proceeds from multiple SIM swap attacks targeting victims across the United States. The complaint states that these funds are traceable to the theft of crypto assets from the wallets of five victims and unauthorized transfers of crypto assets, with the thefts occurring between October 29, 2022, and March 21, 2023.
