Jin10 reported on October 29 that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung plans to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit and will present a replica of a golden crown exhibited at the Gyeongju National Museum to Trump. The South Korean presidential office stated in a release that the crown is intended to symbolize the history of Silla, which maintained peace on the Korean Peninsula for a long time. The South Korean government will also award Trump the highest honor of the South Korean government, the Mugunghwa Grand Order of Service, in recognition of his contributions to peace. South Korea is trying to win Trump's favor as both sides are resolving significant differences in a comprehensive trade agreement. Trump has publicly stated that he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize. On Tuesday, Japanese Prime Minister Kato Sanna told the White House that she has nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
