Nokia has just launched the 7220 Interconnect Router (IXR-H6) high-speed switch and upgraded the proactive AI operation tool to improve data center performance and reliability. The new switch provides bandwidth of up to 102.4 Tb/s with speeds of 800 GE and 1.6 TE, doubling the throughput in the same footprint, supporting AI environments with up to one million XPU. The product comes in liquid cooling or air cooling versions, compatible with various rack configurations, and runs on SR Linux or SONiC.

The Event-Driven Automation platform has been upgraded to integrate proactive AI, combining natural language interaction and AI reasoning to detect issues, analyze causes, and quickly resolve them. This feature, along with real-time data, digital simulation, and instant recovery, helps reduce downtime by up to 96%.

The Switch 7220 IXR-H6 will be launched in Q1/2026, with upgraded AIOps available by the end of the year, in the context of AI and Ethernet becoming increasingly popular.
