Four masked criminals disguised as postal workers entered the victim family's residence, subjected the parents to water torture and beatings, and forced their 18-year-old daughter to take nude photos. The 13 hours of violent coercion ultimately resulted in the family losing Bitcoin worth $1.6 million. One suspect from Hong Kong was sentenced to 7 years in prison for his involvement in the case; he revealed that he was hired to participate in the crime for a reward of CAD 50,000.
