Ripple in line with US lawmakers, RLUSD stablecoin market cap surges to $1.3 billion. Supported by favorable legislation in the ā€œClear Actā€ and ā€œGenius Act,ā€ XRP price forecasts are poised for an explosion. On the technical side, XRP found support at $1.90; if it breaks above the 200-day EMA, a 21% increase to $2.30 is possible.

Ripple’s Billion-Dollar Acquisition Strategy Completes Ecosystem

Over the past few years, Ripple has spent billions acquiring companies such as Hidden Road (brokerage), Rail (stablecoin payments), and Palisade (digital asset custody), building the necessary infrastructure for its vision. The network aims to become the preferred blockchain for cross-border payments, aligning perfectly with this goal.

The acquisition of Hidden Road gave Ripple a broker license and a network of traditional financial institution relationships, crucial for promoting XRP on Wall Street. Rail’s stablecoin payment technology directly supports RLUSD infrastructure, enabling real-time settlement worldwide. Palisade’s enterprise-grade digital asset custody solutions address security concerns of institutional investors.

This vertical integration strategy shows Ripple is not just a blockchain project but is building an end-to-end financial solution platform. From payment infrastructure to brokerage services, from stablecoin issuance to asset custody, the XRP ecosystem is forming a closed loop, providing solid fundamentals for XRP price forecasts.

RLUSD Stablecoin Market Cap Surges to $1.3 Billion

The launch of Ripple USD (RLUSD) marks a milestone for the company, as they now have a native stablecoin that retail and enterprise users can rely on for near-instant USD-pegged payments worldwide. As of writing, the token’s market cap has grown from $50 million to $1.3 billion, reflecting expanding use cases.

This 26-fold growth rate is rare in the stablecoin market. In comparison, USDC took years to reach a similar growth curve. RLUSD’s rapid adoption benefits from Ripple’s longstanding institutional relationships and cross-border payment network. Many companies that previously used USDT or USDC for international remittances now find RLUSD’s settlement speed and cost advantages on the XRP Ledger more compelling.

RLUSD’s success positively impacts XRP directly. Most RLUSD transactions occur on the XRP Ledger, increasing network activity and demand for XRP as fuel. Additionally, RLUSD’s growth attracts more developers and enterprises into the XRP ecosystem, creating network effects. Third, RLUSD provides a stable trading pair for XRP, reducing price volatility’s impact on practical applications.

All these factors indicate that, supported by legislation like the ā€œClear Actā€ and the ā€œGenius Act,ā€ XRP’s ledger is gradually evolving, reshaping the US cryptocurrency landscape.

US Legislation Turns to Clear Regulatory Path for XRP

The advancement of favorable legislation like the ā€œClarity Actā€ and the ā€œGENIUS Actā€ marks a fundamental shift in the US attitude toward cryptocurrency regulation. The ā€œClarity Actā€ aims to clearly distinguish security tokens from utility tokens, providing a clear regulatory framework for assets like XRP. The ā€œGenius Actā€ focuses on promoting blockchain innovation and institutional adoption of digital assets.

This legislation’s significance for XRP is clear. Ripple’s lawsuit with the SEC was a major drag on XRP’s price, and although the case has largely concluded, regulatory uncertainty remains. New legislation will fundamentally eliminate this uncertainty, allowing XRP to circulate and be used freely in the US market.

Ripple’s strategy of aligning with US lawmakers has also played a role. The company’s lobbying efforts in Washington have been ongoing for years, maintaining close communication with multiple Congress members and regulators. This accumulation of political capital enables Ripple to voice its interests in policy-making, ensuring new regulations do not inadvertently hinder XRP’s development.

More importantly, the friendly stance of the Trump administration toward cryptocurrencies has created a favorable environment for the industry. The new leadership at CFTC and SEC has explicitly expressed support for innovation, contrasting sharply with the aggressive enforcement of the Biden era. Under this backdrop, XRP, as one of the native US blockchain projects, is poised to benefit from policy tailwinds.

Technical Analysis: Support at $1.90 and Target at $2.30

Currently, the 200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) acts as a resistance wall for XRP, but the price has already found support near $1.90. [XRP] ( https://www.gate.com/price/xrp-xrp) has been declining for 7 consecutive days, suggesting sellers may take a breather as some positions are being cashed out.

The latest price action appears to be a retest of the recent breakdown from a descending wedge pattern, indicating the uptrend remains intact. A descending wedge is a bullish continuation pattern; after a breakout, strong upward movement often follows, but a retest of the breakout point to confirm support is common before the rally. XRP’s current movement aligns with this textbook pattern.

The $1.90 support level has multiple technical significances. From Fibonacci retracement, it’s close to key retracement levels of the prior rally. From volume distribution, there is heavy historical trading activity around $1.90, meaning many investors’ costs are concentrated in this zone, motivating defensive actions if the price falls.

If XRP rebounds from this level, it could quickly retest the $2.30 zone, implying a 21% upside potential. This target is not arbitrary but based on the measurement rule of the descending wedge: height of the pattern plus the breakout point. Technically, breaking above the 200-day EMA would signal a medium-term trend reversal, attracting more technical traders.

Key Price Levels Summary

Core Support: $1.90 (descending wedge retest)

Short-term Resistance: 200-day EMA (current resistance wall)

Breakout Target: $2.30 (21% upside potential)

Higher Target: If above $2.30, next resistance in the $2.65–$2.80 range

From a larger timeframe perspective, XRP’s performance in 2024–2025 is far outperforming the broader market, with about 345% gains over the past 12 months, compared to Bitcoin’s 65% and Ethereum’s 52%. This excess performance indicates XRP is attracting independent capital flows, a hallmark of strong assets. As RLUSD’s market cap continues to grow and legislation improves, this trend is expected to persist.
