Tharwa has integrated its Sharia-compliant stablecoin thUSD into the Real Finance blockchain ecosystem, expanding access to sustainable onchain yield and strengthening RWA-backed decentralized finance ( DeFi) infrastructure.
Tharwa, an issuer of real-world asset ( RWA) backed stablecoins, has announced the integration of its Sharia-compliant stablecoin thUSD into the Real Finance blockchain ecosystem. The partnership expands access to sustainable onchain yield and strengthens the infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets.
The collaboration brings together Tharwa’s yield-bearing thUSD and Real Finance’s advanced RWA infrastructure. The stablecoin is backed by a diversified portfolio including sukuk (sharia-compliant bonds), gold, real estate and short-term sovereign debt, actively managed with artificial intelligence (AI)-driven financial models to optimize risk and returns.

According to the media statement, Real Finance is designed to support tokenized instruments with transparency, composability, and compliance at its core. By integrating thUSD, the platform gains deeper liquidity routes, new settlement options and enhanced collateral choices for RWA-focused applications.
As a Sharia-compliant stablecoin, thUSD aligns with Real Finance’s mission to bridge institutional-grade financial products with decentralized access. The integration underscores a shared vision of building inclusive, ethical financial instruments with real-world utility.
Interest in halal crypto assets has surged, but the market still struggles to meet demand. Analysts note that Sharia-compliant digital assets remain scarce compared to conventional crypto offerings, creating a significant gap and opportunity for innovation. Sharia-compliant investing prohibits interest (riba) and emphasizes fairness, transparency, and risk-sharing. Digital assets designed under these principles often rely on profit-and-loss sharing models or are backed by tangible real-world assets like gold, sukuk or real estate.
Meanwhile, the deployment of Tharwa’s stablecoin on Real Finance is described as a foundational step toward a future where community-driven access and sustainable finance coexist onchain, paving the way for broader adoption of RWA-backed instruments in DeFi.
