Sources say that Trump and Stoltenberg agreed to further negotiate updates to the 1951 agreement signed by the United States, Denmark, and Greenland, which governs the stationing of U.S. military forces on the island. Another potential aspect of the agreement is expanding U.S. access to Greenland’s natural resources, including its mineral resources. However, Stoltenberg denied on Thursday that he had directly discussed this issue with Trump.
