Odaily Planet Daily reports that Federal Reserve Board Member Milan stated on Wednesday that he would be “very willing” to serve a long-term term at the Federal Reserve if asked, but the decision is not in his hands. The term for the position Milan holds has expired, making this seat the only one that President Trump can nominate Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s successor for before Powell’s term ends. Unless Powell resigns from his Fed Board position when his term expires in mid-May. Powell has not indicated his intentions regarding his future. Milan said in an interview, “The developments later this year depend on multiple factors: whether a vacancy arises, the President’s choice, and the Senate’s confirmation decision.”
