Solid Data Inc. has secured $20 million (approximately 2.88 billion KRW) in seed funding to enhance the credibility of artificial intelligence (AI) agents. The round was led by Team8 and SignalFire. Solid plans to use this funding to accelerate the development of a platform that helps verify, prepare, and understand business data for AI systems.
Solid is dedicated to solving the trustworthiness issues of AI agents. AI shows great potential in automating business processes and decision-making, but faces challenges due to an inability to accurately understand organizational data and business contexts. Variations in how different organizations define key metrics such as revenue, performance, and customer activity make it difficult to build trust in AI-generated insights.
Co-founder Yoni Retzov explained, “AI’s failures are not due to a lack of intelligence, but because it doesn’t understand how business actually operates.” He pointed out that the core issue is that current data infrastructure is not suitable for AI systems; without clarifying the meaning of data to AI, reliable results cannot be achieved.
Solid is developing semantic models that adopt a new approach called “semantic engineering,” enabling AI to correctly interpret business data. This model is expected to significantly reduce the time required to systematically define and verify business semantics. Solid states that such semantic models can greatly improve the trustworthiness of insights provided by all AI systems and agents that use data, potentially increasing AI response accuracy from an average of 20-30% to over 85%, and reducing related manual operations by 50% to 70%.
Solid will offer a 30-day free trial for new customers upon the platform’s official launch and plans to strengthen product development, team expansion, and customer support through this funding round. Ryan Wexler, Managing Director at SignalFire, noted that as AI applications rapidly proliferate, maintaining data consistency becomes a challenge. Solid’s differentiator lies in its ability to automate the construction and maintenance of business semantics through a new system.
