BGD Labs stops supporting Aave DAO from April

AAVE-1,76%

BGD Labs announced that it will end its support role for Aave DAO after four years of operation and will not renew the partnership after April 1st. The decision was made due to concerns over increasing centralization around Aave Labs, especially during the development of Aave v4.

BGD Labs believes that the development direction is leaning heavily in one direction, reducing the contribution role of independent groups and weakening the focus on upgrading Aave v3. Despite withdrawing, the team commits to completing ongoing projects and proposes an optional 2-month security support package worth $200,000 for the transition period.

Following the announcement, AAVE’s price dropped more than 5%, continuing to trade below the 20-day EMA, indicating that short-term downward pressure remains dominant.
