Iranian and American representatives clash verbally at UN Security Council emergency meeting

Foresight News reports that on the afternoon of February 28 local time, and the early morning of March 1 Beijing time, the United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting on the Iran situation, during which representatives from Iran and the United States exchanged sharp words. Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Iravani, condemned the deliberate aggression by the US and Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of civilian casualties, accusing the US and Israel of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity. The US Permanent Representative to the UN, Wallz, countered by stating that Iran’s threatening activities directly endanger the interests of the US, its partners, and allies, and that the actions of the US and Israel are in accordance with the UN Charter. During the meeting, Iravani asked the US representative to “be polite” to Iran.
