Nvidia CEO: $30 billion investment in OpenAI "may be the last," ruling out the possibility of a $100 billion investment

BlockBeats News, March 5 — According to Wall Street Journal, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference that NVIDIA’s recent $30 billion investment in OpenAI “may be” the last investment. The reason is that OpenAI plans to go public, possibly as early as the end of this year.

Huang also said: I believe the opportunity to invest $100 billion in OpenAI may not come again. So this could be our last chance to invest in a company of such significant importance. NVIDIA’s $10 billion investment in OpenAI’s competitor, Anthropic, could also be the final one.

Huang reiterated that the deployment of AI computing power is already generating substantial profit for enterprises, including large publicly listed data center operators like Microsoft. He believes that if these clients can access more computing power, their growth will accelerate; tripling the computing power could potentially triple revenue. He also mentioned that automation design software and system providers like Cadence and Synopsys will become “bigger and more important” in the future.
