The Trump administration is preparing to reach an economic agreement with Cuba or ease travel restrictions

Gate News Report, March 9 — According to U.S. media outlet Today America, two sources familiar with the matter revealed that the Trump administration is preparing to reach an economic agreement with Cuba that could be announced soon. Although the specific details and exact timing of the agreement are not yet clear, it may include easing restrictions on Americans traveling to Havana. Trump can relax such restrictions without congressional approval. Discussions also involve providing an exit mechanism for Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, allowing the Castro family to remain on the island, and deals related to ports, energy, and tourism. The U.S. government has indicated the possibility of lifting some sanctions. It is currently unclear what benefits the U.S. will gain from this agreement. Sources say Trump has leverage that former President Obama did not possess.
