Iran Pre-selects 3-7 Reserves for Key Government Positions, Two Senior Officials Killed in Air Strike

Gate News reports that on March 18, Iran’s Fars News Agency, citing informed sources on the evening of March 17, stated that Iran has pre-designated 3 to 7 alternative officials for all key government and military leaders to ensure the continuity of the country’s core functions in case of emergencies. The source said this personnel arrangement aims to ensure that, regardless of any sudden incident, the country’s administrative operations and defense actions will not be interrupted. Iran has also confirmed that Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, and Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani were killed in the airstrike.
