API3 is a decentralized solution for providing traditional and scalable API services to smart contract platforms, enabling developers to access off-chain resources such as price feeds and QRNG.
API3 is managed by a DAO and is dedicated to providing easy access to all kinds of useful data in smart contract functionality.
Builders have access to different API3 services on Moonbeam:
- Get off-chain data via Airnode
- QRNG (Quantum Random Number Generation)
- dAPI
For example, Airnode is an oracle that pushes off-chain API data to on-chain contracts and lets API providers run their own first-party oracle nodes. This way, they can provide data to any on-chain dApp without the need for middlemen.
