Gate News message, April 22 — The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement on April 22 accusing Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire agreement by firing a drone at Israeli soldiers south of the “frontline” in southern Lebanon. The IDF said the drone was intercepted and announced it would take action to “eliminate threats” to Israeli civilians and military personnel.
In a separate statement, the IDF reported that soldiers discovered weapons caches while dismantling armed infrastructure south of the frontline in multiple areas. The confiscated items included rocket launchers, ammunition, drones, and firearms, which the IDF said were used by Hezbollah militants for attacks.
Additionally, the IDF stated that on April 21, two armed individuals who “crossed the frontline and approached Israeli soldiers” were identified in the Saluki area of southern Lebanon. The IDF characterized them as an “immediate threat” and said its air force conducted an airstrike, killing both individuals.
