Gate News reports that on March 21, Microsoft announced a series of adjustments aimed at improving the quality of Windows 11 operating system. One significant change is reducing the number of entry points for its AI assistant, Copilot. The company stated it will cut back on Copilot AI integration in some applications, including Photos, Widgets, Notepad, and Snipping Tool. In a blog post titled “Integrating AI Where It Matters Most,” Windows and Devices Executive Vice President Pavan Davuluri said Microsoft is being more cautious in deciding “where and how Copilot should be integrated into Windows,” with the goal of focusing on AI experiences that are “truly useful.” This “less is more” strategy of integrating AI into existing platforms may reflect consumers’ growing aversion to “AI bloat.” A study released this month by Pew Research Center shows that by June 2025, half of American adults will be more worried about AI than excited, up from 37% in 2021.
