Nextdc Raises $1.07B to Accelerate Sydney Data Center Expansion

Gate News message, April 20 — Australian data center operator Nextdc announced a A$1.5 billion (US$1.07 billion) capital raise earlier this month to accelerate its Sydney data center project, specifically the S4 facility in Horsley Park.

The capital raise is structured as a rights offer, allowing existing shareholders to purchase one new share for approximately every 5.4 shares held at A$12.70 (US$9.1) per share. Investor La Caisse has committed an additional A$700 million (US$502 million), following its earlier pledge of A$1 billion (US$717 million) this month.

Nextdc raised its fiscal 2026 capital expenditure forecast by A$300 million (US$215 million) to accelerate inventory and equipment purchases for the S4 project. As of March 31, the company’s contracted utilization reached 667 megawatts, representing approximately 60% growth from end-December 2025, while the S4 site is designed for a total capacity of 350 megawatts.
