Gate News message, April 19 — Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz held a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on April 19 to discuss the current regional situation, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office.
Shehbaz briefed Pezeshkian on his recent meetings with leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey, emphasizing that these diplomatic interactions are crucial for building consensus and promoting lasting peace in the war-torn region through dialogue and diplomatic channels. He also expressed gratitude to Iran’s leadership for their constructive engagement with a Pakistani military delegation led by Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa during their visit to Tehran.
Pezeshkian thanked Pakistan for its steadfast commitment to advancing the peace process and stated that bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan will continue to deepen in the future.
