Gate News update, April 9: game giant Valve has been reported to be developing an internal artificial intelligence tool called “SteamGPT,” designed to improve customer support handling efficiency and internal task management capabilities. According to leaked backend code information, the system includes two major modules, “SteamGPT” and “SteamGPTSummary.” It can automatically pull and compile player account information (such as account age, credit score, etc.), helping customer support quickly assess users’ situations and handle issues. At the same time, the tool can also provide intelligent summaries of support requests and internal tasks to optimize the team’s workflow. Currently, SteamGPT is positioned as an internal productivity tool and is not available to users. Valve appears to be more inclined to leverage AI’s retrieval and summarization capabilities to enhance operational efficiency rather than directly introducing a player-facing, conversational AI.
