According to Gate News bot, on July 1st, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Department of Justice launched a nationwide operation aimed at curbing North Korea’s remote IT work scams against American businesses. During the operation, an American citizen suspected of providing a “laptop farm” to North Korean operatives was arrested.
Law enforcement agencies have taken a series of measures, including freezing 29 bank accounts, shutting down 21 fake websites, and confiscating over 200 devices. In addition, they have recovered stolen cryptocurrency worth more than $900,000. The investigation shows that over 100 U.S. companies were compromised in this incident.
