Regarding the zero Gas feature of Plasma, many people still stay at the understanding of "another public chain," which is actually far from the truth.

The correct perspective should be: it focuses on reengineering the payment layer, rather than copying the previous DeFi craze. The core idea is simple—making USDT transfers as cheap and fast as sending a text message. It sounds simple, but the implementation is completely different.

The difference is that this is not a low fee subsidized by exchanges, nor temporary incentives. It is a feature directly designed at the protocol layer: stablecoin transactions inherently do not require consuming XPL as fuel. This is the underlying operational logic, not a top-layer strategy.

When offline merchants worldwide start using Plasma to settle USDT payments, you'll find that the disappearance of Gas fees will become a given—just like instant messaging in the internet era, becoming a standard feature. By then, people might not even specifically mention "zero Gas"—it will be how the infrastructure is supposed to look. This is the true underlying mindset of finance.

Hmm... You make some sense, but can zero gas really last until the day offline merchants become mainstream?

To be honest, this set of logic sounds comfortable, but the day it actually starts accepting USDT is still far away. No matter how elegant the protocol layer design is, someone has to use it.

Ah, finally someone said it. Showing off TPS is already outdated.

Well said, finally someone has explained this thoroughly. Most people are still comparing TPS and GAS numbers, unaware that they have simply changed their approach. The point about rethinking the payment layer is worth noting; it feels like the right path.

That's right, finally someone has explained it thoroughly. Most people still have the old script of public chain competition in their minds and haven't grasped the point of rethinking the payment layer.

Wow, someone finally clarified this. Most people are still using the old mindset of the "new public chain" to view Plasma, which is really far from the truth.

Protocol layer design is truly the difference; it's not the old tricks of exchanges anymore. To truly become infrastructure, fundamental changes are needed from the ground up.

Layer protocol design with zero Gas, now that's the gameplay, not just marketing hype, got it.

Wake up, the correct path is to reconstruct the payment layer. Don't be fooled by the number of public chains anymore.

Another public chain? Wake up, this guy has it backwards.
