The Polygon Foundation has announced ambitious plans to enhance the performance of its blockchain network. According to reports, the network has already achieved a significant milestone through the recent Madhugiri Hard Fork update: on-chain transaction capacity has been increased by 40 percent and now stands at 1,400 transactions per second.

Three-Stage Plan for Exponential Growth

The CEO of the Polygon Foundation has presented a detailed technical development plan that specifies the network’s scaling goals. The first phase aims to increase processing speed to 5,000 transactions per second within the next six months. This increase is intended to position Polygon as one of the fastest blockchain ecosystems on the market.

The second development step is even more ambitious: over a period of 12 to 24 months, the Polygon Foundation aims to expand the TPS capacity to 100,000 transactions per second. With this performance capability, the network could establish itself as a global infrastructure for payment processing.

What does this mean for the ecosystem?

This scaling strategy addresses one of the core issues of blockchain networks: the balance between decentralization, security, and throughput speed. With the planned performance jumps, Polygon positions itself as a serious competitor in the Layer-2 segment and differentiates itself from other platforms through concrete technical milestones.
