A major Danish pension fund is pulling the plug on US government bonds. Akademikerpension, which held $100 million in US treasuries heading into year-end, is making a sharp exit from the space.

Here's where it gets spicy: the fund's CIO straight up said the US is "basically not a good credit" anymore. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Uncle Sam's fiscal situation.

This move signals something bigger—when heavyweight institutional investors start bailing on treasuries and questioning sovereign creditworthiness, it ripples through everything. Capital flows away from traditional safe havens, and that energy has to go somewhere. Markets get restless. Asset allocation shifts. The ripple effect hits risk appetite across the board.

It's not just one fund making noise. It's a datapoint in a larger story about how the world's biggest money is reassessing where it parks its cash.

The US debt really might be in trouble. Major institutions are all fleeing, and now the US credit rating could be completely downgraded.

If I had known that US bonds were no good, I wouldn't have believed that "the safest asset" line... Seeing major institutions now one by one running away, I just regret not jumping on the bandwagon and ditching it earlier.

Are U.S. bonds about to collapse? Major institutions are starting to withdraw, but this isn't that simple.

The US debt thing is really starting to become a hot potato... Major institutions are fleeing, what does this indicate? --- Wait, even Danish pension funds are pulling out? That smart money is really bearish on the US. --- The "safe haven" image of US debt is about to collapse, this is getting interesting. --- CIO openly states that the US "credit is not good"? That statement is quite damaging... The market is about to start stirring. --- A million dollars withdrawn directly, isn't that a signal? --- Large funds are collectively shifting positions, the transmission effect is coming, need to watch carefully. --- Where is the promised safest asset? Now even institutions don't trust it.
