## China Completes Strategic Milestone in Advanced Marine Liquefaction Technology

The floating natural gas liquefaction system "F450 FLNG," entirely developed by Chinese engineers in Nantong, Jiangsu, successfully completed its departure from the dry dock in early 2026. Under the coordination of the local Maritime Administration and with the assistance of specialized vessels, the unit was safely transported and moored at the designated equipment pier.

This achievement positions China as an emerging power in the construction of high-tech marine infrastructure. Natural gas liquefaction via floating platforms represents one of the greatest challenges in modern offshore engineering, requiring the integration of complex systems in extreme environments.

With this construction completed, the project marks the first FLNG system destined for Indonesia and the ninth of its kind globally. Nantong's ability to develop and execute such a large-scale project reflects years of investment in research and human resources specialized in liquefaction technology and offshore systems.

For China, this delivery signifies a significant boost toward the industrial objectives of the Fifteenth Five-Year Plan, consolidating the country's competitiveness in global energy supply chains and demonstrating technological autonomy in strategic sectors of marine infrastructure.
