On January 21, the Trump family’s crypto project World Liberty Fi submitted a new proposal at the end of 2025 that recently sparked controversy in the crypto community. It is reported that the proposal calls for “using 5% of the unlocked funds in the WLFI treasury to promote USD1 growth,” which was originally rejected by the majority when the required voting threshold was reached, until the team and partners forcibly pushed to reverse the result. Crypto KOL DeFi^2 stated that Bubble Maps data shows that most of the top-ranking voting wallets in the proposal are owned by the team or strategic partners, which is clearly a manipulated vote. Data indicates that the WLFI team holds 33.5% of the total token supply, strategic partners account for another 5.85%, and the public sale share is only 20%. It is understood that WLFI holders have no right to distribute any protocol revenue. According to the contents of the WLFI white paper, 75% of the protocol revenue goes to the Trump family, and 25% to the Wietkoff family. The passing of this proposal appears to be the team’s attempt to sell WLFI tokens through a seemingly fair vote, sacrificing the interests of locked-in token holders and funneling funds into the protocol revenue that flows only to themselves. As of press time, WLFI token is priced at $0.1641, with a market cap of $4.469 billion and a FDV of $16.4 billion.
