The Flow Foundation’s proposed protocol update has been unanimously agreed upon by network validators and successfully deployed on the mainnet, according to reports from late December. This consensus-driven approach ensures that critical network improvements receive broad stakeholder support before implementation.

Validator Consensus Drives Mainnet-28 Deployment

The update, identified as Mainnet-28, represents a coordinated protocol fix that required full agreement from the validator community. This unanimous backing from validators reflects the security-conscious governance model that Flow employs. Network Status: Read-Only Mode Maintains Stability

Following deployment, the Flow network continues block production but is currently operating in read-only mode. While the network remains online and generating blocks normally, regular transaction ingestion has been temporarily paused.
