What is Animecoin?

Animecoin (ANIME) aims to bring together global anime fans into a community-managed network. Currently, most anime fans are only viewers, but Animecoin’s goal is to position them as participants and, in a way, owners as well.

It is known as a culture coin that transforms cultural atmosphere into real value. Thus, it merges the anime world with blockchain technology. Its cryptocurrency called ANIME acts as a gas token on Animechain. Users need ANIME to perform any transaction.

Animecoin Founder

Animecoin was founded in 2022 by Alex Xu, known by the pseudonym Zagabond.

How Does Animecoin Work?

Animecoin is designed to turn anime fans into active participants within the industry. In this design, Animechain, anime.com, and Azuki IP play important roles.

Animechain is a Layer-3 blockchain developed using Arbitrum Orbit technology. Transfers needed to complete transactions on this network are made using ANIME coins. In other words, it functions as a gas token. Additionally, it is stated that Animechain supports 40,000 transactions per second.

Anime.com serves as the distribution platform for the ecosystem. It aims to be a social layer dedicated to the anime world, similar to Discord. It focuses on visuals, streaming, and digital collectibles. Furthermore, Azuki IP encourages co-creation, allowing the community to shape characters and stories. Lastly, the ecosystem is managed by AnimeDAO, where ANIME coin holders have voting rights.

What is ANIME Coin?

ANIME is the cryptocurrency of the Animecoin ecosystem. It is a token that emphasizes community ownership. It contributes to transaction processing, governance, and value distribution among fans.

The total supply of this cryptocurrency is 10 billion ANIME, with the token distribution as follows:

  • Community: 50.5%
  • Azuki community: 37.5%
  • Community development: 13%
  • Expansion: 24.44%
  • Team, advisors, and company: 23.06%
  • Partners: 2%

The uses of ANIME within the ecosystem are quite broad. Primarily, it is used as a gas token on Animechain and as a governance token in AnimeDAO. Additionally, it is utilized to fund independent creators and strengthen the DAO treasury generated from validator fees.

How to Buy ANIME Coin?

To buy Animecoin, you first need to create an account on a cryptocurrency exchange. Then, you must complete the identity verification process of your account. To complete the purchase, you need to have a balance in your wallet. If you don’t have one, you can choose payment methods such as bank transfer or credit card. After depositing your money, you can buy the desired amount of assets.

You can use a crypto trading platform to buy ANIME with the TL trading pair. The steps are generally as follows:

  1. On the platform’s homepage, click on “Buy/Sell” or “Markets.” You can search for Animecoin or ANIME to make a purchase.
  2. Click the “Buy” button to start your transaction. If you don’t have an existing account, you will need to create one; if you do, just log in.
  3. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you want to spend on the purchase and proceed. After deciding the amount to deposit, you can confirm the transaction.
  4. The platform automatically checks your account balance. If sufficient, it completes your transaction. If not, you can load more funds with the TL deposit option.

ngl, "community-governed anime network" sounds like maximum opportunity cost for actual value extraction. where's the liquidity depth on this one? 🤔

Another anime coin? How many times has this routine been played out, community-driven, fan-empowered... Just listen to it.

Another "community-driven" narrative. I looked into some early holder addresses, and it's interesting... The fund transfer trajectories of those wallets directly point to a few fixed exchange addresses, truly "decentralized."

Another community-driven narrative... But why can anime fans support the token economy? It depends on how deflation is achieved and how participation is incentivized.
