On February 24, Beike-W (02423) co-founder, Chairman, and CEO Peng Yongdong, along with co-founder Shan Yigang, revealed in an internal all-staff message that as Beike and Lianjia approach their 25th anniversary, they will jointly donate 10 million Class A Beike common shares. The after-tax funds will be used to establish the “Healthy Home Beike Guardianship Fund,” serving as a safety net for approximately 500,000 Beike and Lianjia employees and industry service providers. Based on the closing price on February 23, this donation is valued at about 400 million yuan, and the project will be launched within the year.

This is Peng Yongdong’s second donation within a year, following his donation of 9 million shares last year. The total amount of the two donations by the two Beike co-founders within a year has reached 840 million yuan.

The “Healthy Home Beike Guardianship Fund” includes three sub-projects. The “Life Emergency Fund” is for sudden critical illnesses; once diagnosed and with complete documentation, eligible individuals can quickly receive 20,000 yuan within two working days. Unlike typical post-incident insurance reimbursement models, this fund is aimed at “life-saving emergencies,” providing immediate support to families in distress. The other two projects are for special circumstances and safety nets. Employees and industry service providers who lose their ability to work or meet certain conditions can receive a one-time “Warm Home Assistance Fund” of 100,000 yuan. Beneficiaries who meet the “Warm Home Assistance Fund” criteria can also receive a one-time education fund ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 yuan through the “Children’s Education Fund,” helping families get through tough times. The “Warm Home Assistance Fund” and “Children’s Education Fund” are upgrades to existing employee protections at Beike, increasing overall coverage and benefits for employees and platform service providers.

It is reported that over 500,000 people will benefit from the “Healthy Home Beike Guardianship Fund,” including more than 160,000 employees of Beike and Lianjia who have been with the company for over six months, as well as platform service providers who have been with the platform for over six months. The coverage includes brand owners, store owners, and agents in Beike’s directly operated cities, as well as cleaning and maintenance staff serving Beike Hui Ju, project managers, workers, and cleaners involved in Beike’s renovation services. Eligibility is determined based on the diagnosis date of a critical illness, with six months of employment or platform residence counting as of that date.

“At the core of the platform is providing better, more trustworthy services and value to customers. Employees and service providers are key professionals who create value in housing services,” said Peng Yongdong in the message. “Myself and Mr. Shan jointly established the ‘Healthy Home Beike Guardianship Fund’ to do more, to provide more protection, so that service providers can safeguard their own families and serve millions of households. We want to add more stability and peace of mind on our journey together.”

In December 2025, Peng Yongdong sold 9 million of his personal Beike Class A shares for the first time and donated all after-tax proceeds. This was Peng Yongdong’s first sale of shares since Beike’s U.S. stock listing in 2020. Prior to this, he had never sold, transferred, or otherwise disposed of his actual holdings in Beike. According to media reports, the donation was valued at approximately 440 million yuan, with 50% of the funds allocated to rental assistance for recent graduates and other groups, a project that is also expected to be launched soon; the remaining 50% will be used to improve health and medical services for housing industry workers and their families.

It is clear that the main portion of Peng Yongdong and Shan Yigang’s donations has been directed toward service providers in the housing industry. Their personal contributions complement the company’s internal employee policies, forming a foundational support structure.

In 2008, Beike launched the “Green Plan,” specifically to help Beike service providers and their family members by providing disease protection support to alleviate the financial burden caused by major illnesses. By the end of 2025, the “Green Plan” had distributed over 755 million yuan in aid, assisting more than 54,000 people. A Beijing Lianjia agent applied for aid three times for her daughter between 2021 and 2023, totaling 1.29 million yuan, the highest amount ever granted by the Green Plan. Beike also has a children’s education fund to support employees who have lost their ability to work or meet certain conditions, providing educational expenses from kindergarten through high school to help them complete their studies.
