Mrs. Trump has been embroiled in a Pump and Dump fraud lawsuit due to endorsing the Meme coin MELANIA.

MELANIA-3.16%

Odaily News A meme coin named MELANIA has attracted attention for claiming to be “official” and being promoted by First Lady Melania Trump. This coin was launched in January of this year, around the same time as President Donald Trump's inauguration. In April, multiple cryptocurrency traders filed a class-action lawsuit, accusing several meme coin project teams, including M3M3, LIBRA, ENRON, and TRUST, of implementing “Pump and Dump” fraud, manipulating token issuance for personal gain and causing losses to investors. On Tuesday, the plaintiffs updated the lawsuit documents to include MELANIA as a suspect project. The lawsuit does not accuse Melania herself of participating in the fraud, but states that she unwittingly endorsed the project, serving as a “figurehead.” The plaintiffs emphasized that if the First Lady's team was aware of the project's illegal activities, they would immediately withdraw any authorization. The White House and the defendants' lawyers have not yet responded to requests for comment. (Forbes)
