Bhutan sells another $6.7 million worth of Bitcoin, on-chain data shows it still holds over $370 million in BTC reserves

February 13 News, the government of Bhutan has recently conducted Bitcoin transfer operations again. BSCNews citing on-chain data reports that Bhutan has sold approximately $6.7 million worth of Bitcoin, information provided by on-chain analytics firm Arkham. Although "government sell-offs" can easily evoke market associations, in terms of scale, this transfer accounts for only a tiny fraction of the current daily Bitcoin trading volume and has not caused any significant price impact. On-chain tracking shows that Bhutan-related addresses still hold about $372 million worth of Bitcoin assets. This indicates that it is not a full-scale divestment but rather a phased fund reallocation. Since the end of 2025, Bhutan has repeatedly exhibited a similar transfer rhythm, adopting a "partial sale, long-term holding" strategy, demonstrating that it still regards Bitcoin as an important reserve asset.

Governments Worldwide Participate in Bitcoin Mining: VanEck Reveals National-Level Hashrate Deployment, BTC Moving Toward a Strategic Asset

February 13 News, as the Bitcoin network continues to expand, a global "invisible race" around computing power is underway. According to the latest disclosures from VanEck, several countries are no longer just regulating but are actively participating in Bitcoin mining through direct or indirect means. This shift indicates that Bitcoin is gradually evolving from a grassroots digital asset into a piece of infrastructure with national strategic significance. From an economic perspective, mining is increasingly seen as a tool for energy monetization. For countries with surplus hydropower, geothermal, or idle electricity generation capacity, converting electricity into Bitcoin offers a more resilient way to output value. Instead of purchasing digital assets on the open market, governments prefer to "native acquire" Bitcoin through their own hash power to build long-term digital reserves, which has practical implications in the geopolitical financial landscape.

Will USDT stablecoin surpass BTC and ETH? Mike McGlone makes a disruptive prediction: digital dollar becoming the new core

On February 13, Bloomberg Industry Research Analyst Mike McGlone stated that USDT stablecoin may surpass Bitcoin and Ethereum in market capitalization and influence in the future, becoming the new dominant force in the crypto market. This view is not based on short-term price fluctuations but stems from long-term observations of global capital structures, liquidity needs, and digital financial trends. McGlone believes that as market participants place greater emphasis on security, stability, and cross-border efficiency, dollar-pegged stable assets are gaining unprecedented appeal. USDT does not rely on price appreciation to demonstrate its value; its core advantages lie in usage and liquidity: traders move funds into USDT during market volatility, institutions use it as a settlement and hedging tool, and cross-border users see it as a digital alternative to the US dollar.
