Russian Navy Task Force Departs Zhanjiang After Five-Day Friendly Visit

Gate News message, April 19 — A Russian Navy task force completed its five-day friendly visit to Zhanjiang and departed the port on the morning of April 19. At approximately 9 a.m., the Russian Navy frigates Sovershenny and Gromkiy, along with the medium tanker Pechenga, sailed from the dock in sequence. Officers and sailors from China’s Southern Theater Navy Command lined the dock to hold a farewell ceremony for the Russian delegation. After departure, the Russian task force was escorted out of territorial waters by China’s Navy frigate Chenzhou, followed by a friendly radio farewell between both sides.

During the visit, China and Russia organized deck receptions, mutual ship visits, professional exchanges, and sports competitions, further enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations.
