Hong Kong's Billion-Yuan Gold Heist: Police Arrest 5 Suspects and Recover 73 Kilograms of Gold Bars

Gate News reports that on March 20th, around 2:45 PM, a gold heist occurred at Peninsula Square on Chung On Street in Hung Hom, Hong Kong. The incident involved 73 gold bars (each weighing 1 kilogram), with a total value of approximately HKD 100 million. A man, posing as a buyer, was conducting a gold transaction with staff at a local gold shop when two men and one woman suddenly burst in, claiming that the company’s manager owed a debt. Taking advantage of the chaos, they, along with the male buyer, stole 73 kilograms of gold bars by placing them into a suitcase and fleeing the scene. The police responded promptly to the report, successfully arresting five suspects involved and recovering all 73 kilograms of stolen gold bars.
