Rhea Finance Suffers Attack, Loses Approximately $7.6M

Gate News message, April 16 — According to security firm CertiK, DeFi protocol Rhea Finance suffered an attack in which the attacker created fraudulent token contracts and injected liquidity into newly created pools, allegedly misleading the oracle and verification layer to extract at least $7.6 million in assets.

The attacker exploited the protocol by manipulating liquidity pools with fake tokens, which appear to have caused the oracle system to provide incorrect price data, enabling the unauthorized withdrawal of user funds.
