No longer a one-size-fits-all approach, there are new ideas for the disposal of virtual coins.

Good news has arrived! Today I saw a piece of news: The Baoshan Court in Shanghai, under the guidance of the High Court, disposed of over 90,000 FIL. This is the first time a Shanghai court has converted virtual coins into cash in a criminal case, which is quite significant.

This operation method is quite thoughtful. The court first found a third-party institution for guarantee, then asked them to find qualified overseas agents to complete the disposal on a compliance trading platform certified by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, with the price required to be no lower than the average price of the past 20 days.

This not only ensures compliance but also minimizes the risk of a market crash. Finally, the funds still need to go through foreign exchange approval and will be settled into the court's account for case funds. As for whether the money will be paid into the national treasury or returned to the victims, it will depend on the specifics of the case.

This matter has deeply touched me. It indicates that the domestic judicial system's attitude towards virtual coins is beginning to change; it is no longer just about slogans or a one-size-fits-all approach, but rather treating virtual assets as actual property.

This is a positive signal for the industry. Even if the policies remain ambiguous, the judicial level is already exploring feasible solutions.

Virtual coins are still in a gray area in China, but they are certainly not just air. The fact that they can be enforced by the courts and disposed of through compliant channels already indicates that they are recognized as valuable property. This is not just news; it is a signal: Virtual coins in China are entering a new phase.
