According to cryptocurrency journalist Frank Chaparro, Mastercard is hiring for the position of “Director Crypto Flows, Product Management” to deepen its expansion strategy into the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. This role will be responsible for developing and managing fiat-to-cryptocurrency conversion gateways through cards (crypto on-ramp), as well as products linked to stablecoins.
Additionally, the new position will evaluate market size and expand payment channels related to stablecoins, tokenized assets, and DeFi protocols. The successful candidate will also participate in upgrading network rules and risk management systems to better support Web3 transactions. This move indicates that Mastercard is accelerating its integration of cryptocurrencies into traditional payment infrastructure.
